Elementary School

“We encourage students to reach beyond correct solutions to concrete problems and explain why a solution works and consider other potential ways to get the same solution.”

Elementary Grades 3 – 5:

At Stellar Learning, we believe that students in elementary school are already able to develop the foundation for algebraic and geometric thinking. We develop skills through a process of working with a specific set of math concepts that children become familiar with while encountering concrete objects and slowly develop their ability to make numerical abstractions, such as recognizing patters of growth and shape.

We encourage students to reach beyond correct solutions to concrete problems and explain why a solution works and consider other potential ways to get the same solution.

During tutoring sessions, we help children understand their school homework, as well as help them prepare for school tests, standardized tests, and various school entrance exams. We build upon computational skills that they learn in school and accelerate their development through regular enrichment practices at home or in the center depending upon the student’s capacity and discipline. We know that computational fluency will help students in all future math tasks.
