High Grades 9 – 12:
In high school, our focus is to support students in their unique and specific math challenges. Our tutors help students make the jump in their algebraic and geometric thinking to more advanced applications in which the logic of a contextual solution is used in systems of thinking, such as Trigonometry, Calculus or Statistics.
During high school, we tailor our math tutoring to match each student’s immediate needs. For new students entering Stellar Learning, we create a tailored tutoring plan based upon pre-existing performance on standardized tests as well as results from our Compass Rose Assessment. We know that high school students all perform at different levels when it comes to math. The changes in math skills varies from year to year and often depend upon the specific course or test that students face in their immediate future.
In addition to tutoring services for high school students, we also offer advanced Math classes during the Summer for students who wish to move forward more quickly than their age-appropriate peers or for college students who were not able to take the course in high school and wish to take more advanced courses in their college program of studies.
Students who prepare for standardized tests, like the SAT or ACT, have a clear edge over students who do not. Our tutors will prepare a specific course of sessions, based upon strengths and weaknesses on our assessments. For students who wish to prepare for a specific college admissions test and do not participate in our tutoring programs, we offer group test preparation classes.
College Age Remediation
Students who wish to matriculate to college level math classes but have gaps in their algebraic and geometric thinking can accomplish the equivalent of a semester-long course within a series of focused lessons based upon carefully established needs identified from our educational assessment results.
